Our Approach and Guidelines for Charitable Giving

At Summit, we understand that we are as strong as the communities we serve. Providing community resources is one way we can support our customers and community members. Over the years, Summit Natural Gas of Maine has formed meaningful partnerships with community-based non-profit organizations within the company’s territory.

New in 2023, Summit Natural Gas of Maine will expand upon this partnership commitment by embracing more of a philanthropic approach. Our philanthropic focus will provide a meaningful multi-year impact supporting non-profit organizations providing the grantee with a guaranteed income stream that it can use to launch a long-term program that guaranteed income allows it to focus on providing the much-needed services – and less on raising funds.

Summit’s charitable giving grant awards will focus on these areas of interest:

  • Human needs
  • Education
  • Community vitality and environmental stewardship
