The award is presented annually by the Maine State Council of the Society for Human Resource Management, Best Companies Group, and BridgeTower Media to honor Maine’s most exceptional workplaces.

The Best Companies Group evaluates nominees through a two-part process. First, workplace policies, practices, and demographics are reviewed, representing approximately 25 percent of the overall evaluation. The remaining 75 percent comes from an employee survey assessing workplace experience.
