Summit Utilities Names Richard Leger as Senior Vice President of Operations

LITTLE ROCK, Ark., March 30, 2026 — Summit Utilities announced today that Richard Leger will join the company as senior vice president of operations, effective March 30, 2026. Leger will oversee key operational areas, including operations, gas supply and transportation, engineering, and operations support.

Leger brings more than 25 years of experience in the utility sector to his new role. His extensive background spans leadership positions in natural gas operations, electric operations, regulatory affairs, new business delivery, and conservation programs. Prior to joining Summit Utilities, he served as senior vice president of the natural gas business at CenterPoint Energy.

Beyond his professional work, Leger is highly engaged in industry and community organizations. He served on the boards of the American Gas Association, Southern Gas Association, and Golf Gives Back. He also dedicated six years of service to the Louisiana Army National Guard.

Leger earned bachelor’s degrees in accounting and marketing from McNeese State University. He is also a graduate of Leadership Greater Little Rock XXXII. Currently residing in Houston, he plans to relocate to Little Rock in the near future to assume his new responsibilities.
