Summit Natural Gas of Maine Community Giving Program Announces Grant Winners

More Than $20,000 Awarded to Service Area Non-Profits

YARMOUTH, Maine (June 16, 2022) – Summit Natural Gas of Maine (Summit) has announced the winners of its 2022 charitable giving grant program. Summit is committed to being a good community partner and neighbor. Each year, Summit donates resources to worthy causes that maintain and improve the sense of community in the areas it serves.

Through Summit’s charitable grant and sponsorship program, Summit awards funding to organizations and businesses with strategies that align with Summit’s interests. Priority is given to environmental, health-related, and educational initiatives and programs, as well as economic and cultural initiatives geared toward improving the well-being of Summit’s neighbors.

After an application process, the grants were awarded to these qualifying nonprofit organizations that serve Summit’s service territory:

• Spectrum Generations • Full Plates/Full Potential • Augusta Food Bank – Augusta, ME • Kennebec Valley YMCA - Augusta, ME • Alfond Youth Community B&G Club and YMCA of Greater Waterville – Waterville, ME • Maine’s Children’s Home – Waterville, ME • Kennebec Valley Community Action Programeducare Central ME – Waterville, ME • Southern Kennebec Child Development Corp. – Farmingdale, ME • Pine Tree Society • So Maine Agency on Aging

Providing community resources is just one of the many ways we can support our customers and community members.”

In addition to supporting community causes, Summit also provides members of its team with up to 20 hours of paid time off each year to volunteer in the communities it serves
