Little Rock, Arkansas (September 2, 2025) – Summit Utilities, Inc. (Summit) today announced two senior leadership appointments: Scott Sanders has joined the company as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, and longtime Summit leader Vernon McNully has been named Vice President of Operations.
Sanders brings more than 25 years of experience in finance, investment banking, and energy sector leadership to Summit. McNully, a 30-year veteran of the company, will oversee Summit’s operational footprint across six states, bringing deep institutional knowledge, a strong commitment to safety, and a lifelong connection to the communities we serve.

Scott Sanders Bio
Scott Sanders is the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Summit Utilities, Inc., where he leads the company’s financial strategy, planning, and performance. Most recently, he was vice president of Financial Planning and Analysis for Consolidated Edison, Inc., a regulated utility providing electric, gas and steam service in New York where he was responsible for developing budgets and financial forecasts, providing decision support to business units on operations, internal management reporting, and measuring maintenance and capital spending performance for the corporation. Before joining Consolidated Edison, Mr. Sanders co-founded New Infrastructure Advisors (NIA), a boutique financial advisory firm focused on the renewable energy sector. Mr. Sanders has over a decade of experience in investment banking, advising and raising capital for clients in utilities and renewables. Prior to co-founding NIA, he was a managing director at Bank of America Securities in the Power and Utilities Group. Mr. Sanders has served as a senior member in the Power Group in investment banking at Citigroup. In addition to investment banking, he has experience in consulting, having worked for Deloitte Consulting’s utility practice. Mr. Sanders began his career as a regulator at the California Public Utilities Commission, working as an electric and natural gas utility policy advisor to the Commission President. Mr. Sanders earned a Bachelor of Science degree in nuclear and chemical engineering from the University of California, Berkeley and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago, Booth School of Business.
Vernon McNully Bio
Vernon McNully currently serves as Vice President of Operations for Summit Utilities, Inc., overseeing operations across Arkansas, Colorado, Maine, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Texas. In this role, he is responsible for driving operational excellence, workforce development, and long-term infrastructure resilience with an aim to deliver safe and reliable energy to Summit’s customers. McNully has served Summit, and its predecessor companies, for 30 years, holding leadership positions across engineering, operations, and compliance. He held roles as Senior Director of Operations, Supervising Engineer, and System Compliance Administrator, among other positions, before assuming his current role as Vice President. In these roles, he developed strong regulatory experience and knowledge and has successfully guided teams through complex operational and compliance challenges while advancing system safety, reliability, and performance. A licensed professional engineer in the state of Arkansas, McNully earned his degree in Civil Engineering from Arkansas State University. He most recently completed the American Natural Gas Executive Program with the Southern Gas Association, a two-year program designed to strengthen executive leadership across the natural gas industry. A native Arkansan, McNully is deeply committed to the communities Summit serves and is recognized for fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and collaboration. He and his wife, Susan, live in Arkansas and enjoy spending time with their four children and two grandchildren.
