Summit Natural Gas of Maine and Royal River Conservation Trust Continue Beautification Project

8/23/2022

YARMOUTH, Maine – (August 23, 2022) Team members from Summit Natural Gas of Maine (SNGME), along with members of the Royal River Conservation Trust (RRCT), volunteered their time to clean up and help maintain the Mèmak Preserve in North Yarmouth.

SNGME team members began working with the RRCT on this trail in 2020 when SNGME became RRTC’s first “Adopt-A-Trail” program participant. As a program participant, SNGME team members donate their time through SNGME’s Volunteer Time Off hours for work on this ongoing project. Additionally, SNGME also helps fund maintenance on the trail, as well as tools and supplies for continued improvement of the 46-acrea conservation area.

This year’s crew hauled away brush and limbs, which made the trail even more user-friendly for those who visit. The trail offers visitors the opportunity to hike, bike, and take in local wildlife, trees, foliage, and wildflowers that make this Preserve their home.
